Casual Wedding, Event, Waiting & Bar Staff

Up to £11.50 per hour, includes holiday pay (casual hours).

We are looking for a passionate waiter and bar staff based at Combermere Abbey, the successful candidates must be self-motivated, have a passion for good food and service, calm under pressure and be able to work in a small team. Experience in weddings and conferences, 100+ covers, fine dining and event bars, together with a strong background in food-led establishments.

Requirements:
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
• 1 years’ experience preferred however training will be provided
• Own transport due to remote location

Responsibilities:
• Report to the Chef, Event Manager or Bar Manager on duty
• Some lone working
• H&S – training will be given
• Food Hygiene – training will be given

Estate Maintenance Assistant

Up to £27,000, full time role.
 
Combermere Abbey, set in 1000 acres, is a historic award-winning estate on the Shropshire/Cheshire borders. A well-known rural gem with diverse businesses that includes self-catering cottages, a wedding venue, heritage tours, public events and a restored Victorian walled garden.
 
Duties:
• To ensure that the Estate buildings, including the holiday cottages, Abbey, North Wing B & B and external areas are maintained to a high standard.
• Taking a proactive approach to maintenance to achieve Estate goals.
• To utilize your understanding of maintenance by offering solutions and suggestions for ongoing projects.
• To ensure all weekly, monthly and yearly jobs are being completed in a timely manner.
• Assist in the delivery of a premium and well-maintained Estate environment ensuring guests can enjoy the experience of being at Combermere Abbey.
• A passion to use your experience for the ongoing benefit of the Estate.
 
Skills:
• Ability to follow management directives and instruction, being very hands on in the role and ensuring tasks are carried out effectively and safely with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge and skill base for plumbing, electrics, joinery, tiling and painting.
• Adhere to weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of the site and Health & Safety compliance requirements are met.
• High standards of work, logical problem solving, and proactive and reactive attitudes are required.
• Enjoy working within a team environment.
• Full driving licence with the ability to drive to work.
• This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on role and has a passion for maintaining equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be able to work independently, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.

Housekeeping Staff

Up to £12.21 per hour
 
Part time role (6-16 hours per week, including weekends).
 
As a Housekeeping Staff member, you will be essential in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our holiday cottages. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper/Supervisor, your role will involve ensuring that the cottages and other areas are spotless and welcoming.
As we move into our busy wedding season, we are looking to extend our team of housekeepers to help clean the cottages.
Hours are throughout the week, including weekends. Usual hours of work will be between 10am – 4pm. Pay is age relevant national minimum wage.
 
General duties include:
• Vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bedrooms, kitchens and outside areas, including windows.
• Some lifting is required.
 
Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be provided, and you will be expected to clean to the highest standards. Own transport is required due to our rural location.
