New Year Celebrations
Gather your favourite people and get ready to ring in 2027 in style with a cottage stay at Combermere Abbey.
Whether you’re planning a big family get-together or a celebration with friends, our self-catering cottages are the perfect place to make some unforgettable New Year memories, from as little as £52 per person, per night, for a 3-night stay. Our cottages sleep between 4 and 10 guests, so there’s room for everyone.
Our New Year Breaks start from Wednesday 30th December 2026, with flexible options to suit your plans:
- 3-Night New Year Break (minimum stay)
- 4-Night Extended Stay
- 5-Night New Year Retreat
And because no New Year’s Eve celebration is complete without a few extras, every cottage stay over New Year will include a special party pack for you and your guests. Expect party masks, games, plus Prosecco and orange juice for creating your own New Year’s Day morning mimosas – everything you need to get the festivities started!
Christmas Cottage Breaks
Make this Christmas truly memorable with a countryside retreat surrounded by winter scenery, festive charm and historic surroundings.
We offer two Christmas stay options:
- 5-Night Christmas Break – Arrive on Wednesday 23rd December 2026 for a relaxed festive stay
- 7-Night Christmas Break – Arrive on Monday 21st December 2026 for a longer, more indulgent Christmas escape
- Each cottage is individually styled and fully decorated for the festive season, creating a warm and welcoming Christmas atmosphere from the moment you arrive.
- Every booking also includes a complimentary festive hamper filled with seasonal treats.
- Limited Availability – we currently have 3 of our 10 holiday cottages available
Absolutely! Your dog will be very welcome to stay in our cottages over the festive season – don’t forget to add them on when booking your stay. We welcome either one large dog or two small dogs per cottage – please see our dog policy for more information.
Your chosen cottage will be available for you to arrive from 3pm, and your departure time will be 10am.
Of course, multiple cottages can be booked to allow larger families or groups to celebrate together.
Booking a combination of cottages can also provide you a larger dining space to all come together:
- Poole & Empress Cottages can be booked together, allowing up to 8 people to dine together in Poole Cottage
- Beckett Cottage benefits from a large dining table which can seat up to 20 people, and is ideal when booked in conjunction with another cottage.
- Malbanc Cottage can accommodate up to 16 people around the dining table.
Yes! We will have a Christmas Tree decorated ready for your arrival, and a beautiful wreath will welcome you through to your cottage.
Of course you can. All our cottages have a fully equipped kitchen, ensuring that you can escape to Combermere Abbey for Christmas, but still enjoy the luxuries of your freshly prepared Christmas dinner.
Sitting on the Cheshire/Shropshire border, we are blessed with a wide range of pubs and restaurants close by, however the Combermere Arms offers a very local option, being just 500 yards from the entrance to the estate.
Yes, you would be welcome to arrange a supermarket delivery for your provisions – we request that these are arranged for once you have arrived to your cottage.
Several of our cottages feature a woodburning stove in the living rooms:
- Empress
- Cotton
- Wellington
Our other cottages feature either an electric or gas fireplace.
