Listening to comments and observations is at the heart of what we do.. so we have created something new for those visitors who want the full Combermere North Wing experience without going out once settled in.

Now you can enjoy the delicious Combermere ‘Grazing Board’ for one or two persons, crammed full of local goodies to enjoy a relaxing evening in. Just book it in advance, let us know any dietary challenges and off you go.

Created fresh inhouse, you can also enjoy it as a picnic in fine weather gazing at the sunset over the mere.. (picnic basket and basket provided)

Would you believe that something as valuable as this painting was almost lost in a skip?

This painting of Lord Combermere after winning the Battle of Bhurtpore in 1826 has definitely overcome the odds. Originally commissioned to hang in the Wellington dining room, it was painted by Patrick Heaphy. A vital piece of the Combermere history, Sarah explains how this special piece went from trash to treasure, and is now proudly displayed in the Library at Combermere Abbey and seen by all those who join a tour or come to an event in the house. 🏰
